The first article is called "How Sedentary Time May Raise Heart Disease Risk" by the American Heart Association in Science Daily. In this article, it explains that even though you may be exercising, being sedentary for too long on a daily basis can negatively affect your heart and blood vessels.
The American Heart Association found that the average American is sedentary (sitting, laying down or reclining) 6 to 8 hours a day. They recommend exercising vigorously at least 30 minutes a day, but also to find ways to cut down your sedentary time. Exercising does not cancel out 8 hours of sitting in front of a computer.
The second article is called "Why We Should Exercise -- And Why We Don't" by Harvard Health Publications. In this article, it talks about all the benefits of exercise and 10 ways to do so. They state that exercise can lower your heart rate, increase "good" cholesterol, increase brain function, and fight off cancer.
Their evidence shows that it's not about the type of exercise you do, but to just do it. As long as it equals to 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise.
After reading these 2 articles and from 20 years of cumulative experience, here's a list of 3 easy ways to cut your sedentary time that you should do:

- Work Standing Up - People spend most of their sitting time at work, so doing periods of standing will keep you off your butt and more awake.
- Take A Walk - Instead of sitting on the couch to watch TV, take a walk after work to clear your mind and get some fresh air.
- Exercise Every Morning - Waking up earlier to exercise will get your blood flowing, increase your energy for the day and activate your brain!
By doing these 3 activities, you will feel better, get healthier and reduce your sedentary time.
